A forest camp at Pradhani, near Dandeli
Simple rooms, jungle trails, and the Kali River — a base for people who want their days shaped by the forest rather than a resort itinerary. Rustic by design, not five-star.

Forest camp near Dandeli, Karnataka — rustic by design, not five-star.
Arriving, and slowing down
The drive in from Dandeli town narrows as it goes — tar gives way to forest edge, and the noise of the highway drops off well before you reach the camp. Most guests notice the quiet before they notice anything else.
There is not much of a schedule here. Mornings tend to start early because the forest is loudest and coolest then. Afternoons are for the river, or for doing very little. Evenings gather around a campfire. None of it is choreographed — it's just what the setting makes easy.
Why stay here
On the forest edge
The camp sits at the edge of the Kali Tiger Reserve landscape, not on a highway strip of look-alike resorts — your surroundings are forest, not a parking lot.
The river, right here
The Kali River is the reason most of the activity roster exists — rafting, kayaking, coracle rides — without a long transfer to reach the water.
Rooms and packages, kept honest
We separate what room you sleep in from what package you book, so you can see exactly what's included and what costs extra, rather than guessing.
Guided, not unattended
Trekking, safaris and river activities run with local guides who know the terrain, the river's moods, and the forest department's rules.

The camp sits within the wider landscape of the Kali Tiger Reserve, home to tigers, black panthers, elephants, sloth bears and well over a hundred recorded bird species. Guides know the trails and the habitat well — but this is a wild forest, not an enclosure, and sightings of any specific animal are never guaranteed. What you see depends on season, weather and chance.
The rustic reality
This camp is built for guests who want the forest more than they want a five-star checklist. We'd rather you know what that means before you arrive than be surprised by it.
What that gets you
- Direct access to forest trails and the river, without a long transfer.
- A slower pace, with no organized entertainment competing for your evening.
- Local guides who work this landscape daily, not a rotating tour-desk crew.
What to plan around
- Mobile network can be patchy and varies by carrier — don't count on constant signal.
- Insects and, in the monsoon months, leeches are part of the forest — closed footwear helps.
- Paths and grounds are natural and uneven, not paved or landscaped.
- There is no organized entertainment program — evenings are simple, by design.
If that sounds like your kind of trip, you'll likely enjoy it here. If you need climate-controlled polish and a full activities desk, this may not be the right fit — and that's a useful thing to know in advance.
